What is barbara cowsills?

Barbara "Babs" Cowsill (born July 12, 1948) was an American singer and musician best known for being a member of the popular family band The Cowsills, which was active in the 1960s and early 1970s. She was the second to youngest of the seven siblings in the band.

Her family band had several hit songs in the late 1960s, including "The Rain, the Park and Other Things" and "Hair". Babs played keyboard, percussion and sang backup vocals, often harmonizing with her sister Susan.

After The Cowsills disbanded in 1972, Babs continued to perform with her siblings in various incarnations of the band. She also released a solo album, Barbara Cowsill, in 1975.

Babs struggled with substance abuse throughout her life, and died of emphysema in 1985 at the age of 37.
